Rémy-Cointreau profits from champagne

Turnover at the Rémy-Cointreau group, which owns Cognacs Rémy-Martin (500 employees at Cognac) has reached 2.5 billion francs in the first half-year of the present fiscal year, a 24.7 % increase. Heidsieck champagnes and wines (25.2 % of their business) have shot up by 55 % and liqueurs (14.2 %) have risen by 20.5 %. And cognac (36.4 % of business) is doing rather well with a 25 % increase to 912 million francs, thanks to the new brands Rémy Red and VS.

Hennessy may transfer its storehouses

Following the implementation of a plan to reduce risks of flooding in Cognac, Hennessy may have to move its cognac from the storehouses on the quays. Cognac is indeed on the list of dangerous products.

"Ptit Jaune" from Euronégoce

Euronégoce Spiritueux, a company in Juillac-le-Coq, has been producing pastis since the summer. "P’tit Jaune" (Little Yellow One) is sold in French supermarkets and in Italy. The company (10 employees) also produces cognac and pineau under the "Pasquinet" brand and other alcoholic drinks.

Renault-Bisquit : director leaves

Michel Jourdan is to leave his post as general director of the Renault-Bisquit cognac company at Rouillac on 30 November. He will be succeeded by Jean-Luc Francese, the financial director of the company.

Hennessy explains "Timeless"

Hennessy is currently holding an original presentation of its most recent product, Timeless, with sketch drawings for the creation of the bottle and information sheets for the eleven cognacs which make up the blend, all in English.

Viticulture : Hennessy lowers its prices

As expected, the Hennessy cognac house is lowering the purchase price it pays to growers by 10 %. The company had already announced at the start of November that it would reduce the volume of its purchases by a quarter.
